The venue: Theydon Bois Village Hall, Coppice Row, Theydon Bois, Essex CM16 7ER
The date: Friday February 12th 2010
Champagne reception from 7 pm
Theydon Bois Village Hall will become home to the inaugural Scarlet Auction for around 140 people in aid of St Clare Hospice on February 12th.
The special event, which also coincides with the St Clare Hospice 20th anniversary, will commence with a Champagne reception followed by a sumptuous 2 course dinner.
The Auction will begin at 9.15pm.
Our Auctioneer for the evening will be Mr Philip Gee, a highly acclaimed charity fundraiser.
This spectacular Auction boasts a range of between 50-60 lots and these will include a variety of stunning ‘headliners’ and one-off opportunities. Our aim has been to offer some unusual and interesting items in order to smash through our fundraising target of £30,000. Can we do it? We certainly hope so with the generosity and support of our guests.
Ticket price: £25 per head
We would be extremely grateful for any items that could be offered to us for the Auction, and of course we need to sell as many tickets as possible.

And from St Clare:
“We are so excited to have Steve’s support – a fantastic start to our 20th anniversary year. The auction promises to be a marvellous event; it’s a new event for St Clare Hospice and we are optimistic that with Steve’s wonderful enthusiasm and the incredible range of auction lots on offer it will be a huge success. Local people have supported St Clare for many years to help the hospice deliver the services we do today. Our in-patient unit and day therapy centre provide skilled nursing care, pain control, symptom relief and a range of therapies as well as specialist advice to carers, 24 hours a day, free equipment loan, and support for families. In 2010, as we celebrate 20 years of care for people in West Essex, we want to further develop our services by reaching in to people’s homes and giving them even more choice in their care. The auction is set to raise £30,000 which will enable our in-patient unit to provide 1,800 hours of specialist palliative care for local people with cancer or other life limiting illnesses; it promises to be an outstanding contribution to our work.”
Sue Upton, Director of Fundraising at St Clare Hospice.
